B&B teamed up with Shower Power to Feed and Offer Showers to the Homeless

On September 9th, B&B Electrical teamed up with Shower Power, a charity that offers free showers to the homeless in downtown Jackson, MS.

“Shower Power is more than a shower. We want to bring hospitality to the streets by delivering mobile hygiene services to people experiencing homelessness. It’s about taking time to show people that you care and restoring dignity by providing resources needed for self-care.”

Teresa Renkenberger – Shower Power Founder

Shower Power, founded in 2019 by Teresa Renkenberger and Mary Ann Kirby, has given over 3,500 showers to people in need. Every Friday, they offer this service from their mobile shower truck, equipped with soap and shampoo dispensers, a mirror, a sink, and a changing area.

B&B was the sponsor this past week and brought their cooking trailer along with volunteers that served hotdogs/hamburgers, chips, a drink & a dessert. Last year, B&B built a custom cooking rig to travel to feed their crews working storm restoration away from home due to hurricanes and other natural disasters. They have also used the rig several times to give back to the communities they serve and will continue to do so when the need arises in the future.
