Austin Blakeney has been promoted from Senior Vice President to President of B&B Electrical & Utility Contractors, effective March 7, 2022.
Austin started learning the family business at an early age. In 2012, he started working full time with B&B after graduating from Mississippi State University. Austin began his career in a Field Operations role then later took on the role of Senior Vice President in 2018, since Austin been instrumental in supporting B&B’s growth over the past decade through managing B&B’s services and support groups including: transmission, distribution, street-lighting, commercial electrical, human resources, safety, and fleet.

Austin was named president in March of this year succeeding his father, Brien Blakeney whom founded B&B in 1982, forty years ago this year.

Brien Blakeney has taken on the role of Strategic Advisor with United Utility Services, parent company of B&B. Brien’s experience and expertise in the industry will bring much value as he focuses on the overall growth and operations of UUS.
